1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ResumX is a web-based application that helps users create professional resumes and cover letters. The Service includes:

• A resume builder with real-time preview and multiple templates
• AI-powered cover letter generation
• AI-powered document review and scoring
• PDF export functionality
• Job application tracking

3. User Accounts

• Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to update it as necessary.
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
• One Account Per Person: Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is prohibited.

4. Subscription and Billing

Free Tier

The free tier provides limited access to the Service, including one resume, one cover letter, three AI reviews per month, and the MIT template. The free tier is available at no cost and does not require payment information.

Premium Tier

The premium tier ($15.00/month) provides unlimited resumes, cover letters, AI reviews, access to all templates, PDF downloads, AI email subject lines, and priority support.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Polar, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing to the premium tier, you agree to Polar's terms of service. We do not store your credit card information directly.

Cancellation

You may cancel your premium subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain premium access until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the free tier. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.

5. User Content

Ownership: You retain full ownership of all content you create using the Service, including resumes, cover letters, and application data.

License to Us: By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We will not use your content for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you create. Do not include false information in your resumes or cover letters.

6. AI Features

The Service includes AI-powered features such as document review, cover letter generation, and suggestions. Please note:

• AI-generated content is provided as suggestions only. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before using it.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any specific purpose.
• AI features rely on third-party providers (OpenRouter) and may be subject to availability and performance variations.
• Your document content may be sent to AI providers for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Create resumes or cover letters containing fraudulent, misleading, or defamatory information.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or scrape the Service without our prior written consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks connected to it.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

The ResumX name, logo, branding, website design, and underlying source code are the intellectual property of ResumX and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

The resume and cover letter templates provided through the Service are licensed for your personal use within the Service only.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResumX and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, data, employment opportunities, or other intangible losses.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the Service or other users. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service will cease immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which ResumX operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
